Lady GaGa Nominated For MOBO Award

The MOBO Awards, launched in 1996, were the first Awards show in Europe to celebrate urban music. Past performers include Janet Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Justin Timberlake, Tina Turner, Jay- Z, LL Cool J, Amy Winehouse, Dizzee Rascal, Estelle, Usher and John Legend. Having played at every iconic venue in London, including the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley and being the first multi-artist event at the O2, 2009 sees the MOBO Awards are moving from their birthplace to the SECC in Glasgow, Scotland.

Lady GaGa has been nominated for Best International Act.

Along with Lady GaGa, here are the other artists nominated for this category:

Akon
Beyonce
Ciara
Drake
Eminem
Jay-Z
Kanye West
Keri Hilson
Mariah Carey

Note that none of the artists mentioned above (nor Lady GaGa) will actually be performing there and voting has been closed.

The MOBO Awards will air on September 30th, 2009 at the SECC, Glasgow on BBC3 and will repeat on BBC1 on October 2nd.
